"I See Trees of Green -- Red Roses, Too..."

"I see them bloom for me and you.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blues, clouds of white,

The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

(George Weiss & Bob Thiele)

  1. I just wonder how things are going to unfold.

That song is exactly what I want my country and my world to be like. I wish more people could realize what we could achieve if we just kept those simple lyrics close at hand and heart.

  2. The only thing that really bothered me was that the day after we were all remembering MLK, the deliverer of one of the most notable speeches ever given from the best orator of the modern civil rights movement, where he said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character," I was inundated by all media with "The first (description) President of the United States of America."

Yeah, it is history being made. I knew that was going to happen a year or two ago.

    fossie,

You said it best in one line.

"I just wonder how things are going to unfold."

That is everything any and all media needed to say.

  3. Yeah. I admit, the punditry didn't try too hard to be original. But it was history, and 300 years from now, it'll still take up a buttload of space in the history texts - or blogs, or whatever the little twerps are learning from then.

  4. I tried several dry, witty comments but none of them were any good. I refuse to see color (though I do often hear it) so I don't care what the president looks like, I only care if he can do the job. Is he going to "save" America? Not likely, but I hope he helps a little. I will concede it has been a long time coming though.
